Reflexive Pronouns
Normal possessive pronouns are suffixed to the word “خود” to form reflexive pronouns. They are used to avoid repeating a pronoun as well as to emphasize on pronouns when needed.

It was a long time that I had
not seen myself in the mirror.
You talk with yourself.
He/She is afraid of his/her own shadow.
It is our own fault.
You chose this destiny yourselves.
They became captives of their own dreams.
The usage of reflexive pronouns is beyond what we just mentioned. They are used extensively (but not as much) in place of normal possessive pronouns when the pronoun and the subject of the verb of the sentence refer to the same entity.
We did our job.
Mr. Majidi looked at his watch.
Except when reflexive pronouns are used for emphasis, in written Persian, it is more typical to use the word “خود” alone without the suffixes.
I laughed at my own silliness.
Respect your parents.
Don’t remove your hand from over my head
I’m restless, I’m restless, I’m restless…
